Service Peace Warrior:
I would like to take a moment and express my gratitude for this wonder gift and honor that you have given me. What has always seemed like a dark tunnel that had no end, I feel blessed that Service Peace Warriors and Beckett has given me light.
For me, the flashbacks and constant anxiety has me gasping for breath but since I have been working with SPW Beckett the anxiety attacks seem to be getting further apart. When the anxiety gets so bad my body just shuts down, someone could be talking to me, and I hear them but I just “Zone Out” and SPW Beckett will give me a nudge and bring me back to reality.
Being in the Service Peace Warrior program has been good for me, not only have I built this bond with SPW Beckett, but it has also given me peace seeing my fellow Veterans/Classmates happy and hopefully their dark days will be fewer.
I am so grateful for Mary, Kari, Chance, and everyone who has helped me through this journey. The passion and commitment that you show to your dogs, and to Veterans is amazing. I have much love and respect for everyone involved with Service Peace Warriors, that I hope to one day pay it forward.
