Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
My names is Reed P. Leisinger and I have recently been trained by Service Peace Warriors (SPW) in Eltopia WA. As you well know that the men and women of this great organization so many of them, I can’t count have given their time, talents and effort to ensuring that 7 others just like me have been given the opportunity to have our lives changed through the love and understanding of owning a service animal. I can’t tell you how far I have come in the past six weeks as it pertains to understanding what a shell of a person I was. I knew there were issues that I suffered through each day but could not put my thumb on why I was acting like I did. I blamed myself and I blamed my spouse and I blamed God for turning me into a person who could not live around others without being an obnoxious, gruff and sometimes even mean to the persons who loved me the most.
It’s because of people like you that I am walking around people today and I know how to face my fears and make the right decisions. My “Maggie” my service animal loves me unconditionally each day and works very hard to ensure that when I do have issues, she is the one who recognizes them and prompts me to slow down and let things develop before acting out where I am exhibiting self-destructive behaviors. Who knew that a medium sized, hard working fur ball would be the one to change my life and soften my heart? Mary, Kari, Chance and the gang are the true heroes and the Peace Warriors who wear that title with pride,
In closing I just wanted to let you know that without your support none of this would matter and it all starts with you and your generous time and financial efforts. You are the folks that people do not see and are the silent professionals that make this all worthwhile. Please accept my sincere thank you for saving my life.
